This UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site welcomed 167,047 visitors in October 2024 alone, with 46% (77,112) being international tourists.

Recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site, Iguaçu National Park has entered the top 10 dream destinations for travelers. A recent study by the Bucket List Company analyzed Google search data to uncover trending attractions and travel hotspots. Brazil’s natural wonder achieved 6th place, highlighting its appeal for adventure tourism.

According to the research, the Brazilian destination ranked just behind Machu Picchu (Peru), the Taj Mahal (India), Lapland (Sweden), Petra (Jordan), and the Grand Canyon (United States).

Located in the state of Paraná, Iguaçu National Park is a Federal Conservation Unit that preserves one of the most important remaining areas of the Atlantic Forest in South America. It is also the world’s largest reserve of subtropical rainforest, making it one of Brazil’s most sought-after tourist spots.

In October 2024 alone, the park received 167,047 visitors, with 46% (77,112) of them coming from 120 different countries. Among international visitors, Argentina led the ranking, followed by the United States, Paraguay, Germany, Spain, and France.

For those looking to explore the park, there are numerous adventure options, from helicopter tours to thrilling excursions on the Iguaçu River.

For those who prefer to stay on solid ground, the Cataratas Trail is one of the park’s most popular paths. This moderate 1,200-meter hike offers a panoramic view of the park’s impressive waterfalls.
