Paraná’s capital was the only Brazilian city to make it into the Lonely Planet’s ranking, the renowned international travel guide.

Curitiba, the capital of Paraná, was chosen as one of the top 30 best destinations in the world to visit in 2025, according to Lonely Planet, a major authority in the travel industry. This recognition adds even more visibility to the destination, which is one of the most popular spots for foreign tourists visiting Brazil.
Since the start of the year, the state has welcomed 675,108 international visitors, with the majority coming from South America.
Highlighting the city’s tourism potential, Lonely Planet notes that Curitiba “values both its citizens and its tourists,” offering an “immersive experience” for those who visit.
Natural and architectural beauties, museums, and the famous Botanical Garden were among the features considered by the site in choosing Curitiba. Special tourist options, such as the scenic train ride between Curitiba and Morretes through mountains and tropical forests, were also included in the evaluation.
