Brazil walked the red carpet at the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2024, a highly esteemed travel magazine in the United Kingdom. The country clinched awards in three categories, standing out among the top 10 most desirable destinations worldwide, alongside renowned international travel hotspots.

Thanks to its rich natural diversity, expansive forests, and vast savannahs, Brazil also earned second place in the Best Nature and Wildlife Destination category. With its unparalleled biodiversity and varied landscapes—including beaches, mountains, waterfalls, and native forests—Brazil has proven itself an irresistible choice for outdoor enthusiasts, wildlife observers, and seekers of eco-tourism, cultural, and culinary adventures.

Adding to the accolades, Rio de Janeiro’s iconic Christ the Redeemer opened its arms to receive an award, as the city secured third place in the Most Desirable City category. This recognition from the Wanderlust Travel Awards 2024 highlights that Brazil goes beyond its natural beauty, showcasing vibrant culture and the unique charm of its cities.

These awards further solidify Brazil’s position on the global tourism map, making it an attractive option for travelers seeking new experiences. Whether exploring breathtaking nature, diving into unique ecosystems, or discovering the vibrant energy of its cities, Brazil offers a wide variety of experiences that captivate tourists from around the globe.

Between January and September 2024, the number of international visitors to Brazil increased by 12% compared to the same period last year. The country has already welcomed 4.897 million international travelers this year.

This marks the highest result ever recorded in the historical series (1989–2024) for the month of September. In this month alone, 445,389 foreign tourists arrived in Brazil, representing a remarkable 26.4% increase compared to September 2023.
